The aim of Science

Science has recently become a sort of weapon not only against a religious feeling, but also for defeating what is not fully understood by materialism. A division between rational and irrational is made; one part must beat the other: tertium non datur. Who remains alone, isn't accepted by none of the parts. There cannot be a freethinkers who believe in reincarnation, as documented by a series of researches on pre-school children, like there is no religious person who accept evolution or doesn't always obey the Pope(this is the stereotipated materialist athesist's vision of the believers).
Well, Science can't be used for ideological purposes, in order to prove the existence of the immaterial. G-d or the soul will never be detected by any instrument, because are part of the inner reality, which is unfathomable by every objective knowledge.
Science is nothing else that a knowledge acquired via scientific method, which can only say how universe works, but not why it has been created, why exists and who has created it. Knowing how universe have begun will never give us any deeper knowledge.
Science is like a pair of goggles, who let us to see only a little part of the spectrum, but if we only consider that as real knowledge and we forget the superrationality, hidden in a frequency impossible to see with the goggles, we seriously risk to debase our nature, becoming only paltry matter.
This would deprive of every meaning not only moral values, but consequntly our decision too, infact only matter moved by deterministic laws exists, so thought, values and idea are worth like matter.
In Scientism(accepting only scientific findings and refusing the spiritual ones) there is no difference between good and evil, remaining property of matter.
